How to read these figures

Salary is annual gross pay before employee taxes and deductions. Weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly and monthly columns are the estimated amount deposited per check on that schedule. Annualized net is 26 times the biweekly estimate, so it is an approximation and may differ by a few cents from 52 weekly or 12 monthly estimates because payroll rounds each check.

Shared scenario: One Utah job; full-year level salary; 2026 rules; federal and Utah filing status as shown; 2020-or-later W-4 with Steps 2–4 blank; no optional benefits, retirement contributions, bonus, or extra withholding; no year-to-date threshold adjustment. These are employee withholding estimates, not a tax-return calculation or a promise of the exact amount an employer will deposit.

Single filer: estimated take-home pay

Federal and Utah withholding are calculated using the single status. Choose a salary link to inspect the full tax breakdown and adjust benefits or W-4 fields.

Married filing jointly: estimated take-home pay

This scenario assumes one job and a married filing status. A working spouse or second job can change federal withholding; use the detailed calculator with the actual W-4 choices rather than relying on this row.

What changes the estimate?

The tables isolate salary, status and frequency. Real paychecks can also include W-4 Step 2 for multiple jobs, Step 3 credits, Steps 4(a) and 4(b) adjustments, per-check extra withholding, traditional retirement deferrals, Section 125 benefits, post-tax deductions, bonuses, commissions and tips. Social Security and Additional Medicare calculations can change near year-to-date wage thresholds.

The federal method comes from IRS Publication 15-T (2026); Utah wage withholding uses Utah Publication 14; the Social Security Administration publishes the 2026 wage base. Read the calculation methodology for the exact modeled rules and limits.
